Agriculture in the Classroom
The Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation conducts an annual, weeklong Agriculture in the Classroom workshop to provide teachers with methods to incorporate agriculture into their curriculum. The 2010 workshop will be held at Penn State University in University Park from July 11 – 16.
The Agricultural Development Council supports the program by sponsoring the $700 workshop fee for one teacher to attend each year. The $700 scholarship covers room, board, tours, and resource materials. The selected teacher’s obligations include: completing and signing the registration form, paying the $100 registration fee, and arranging personal transportation to and from the workshop in University Park, PA (Penn State University – Main Campus). The teacher selected will be contacted to make final arrangements. Sixty (60) Act 48 hours are available (no fee), as well as two (2) IU credits (for a fee) and 2-3 Penn State graduate credits (for a fee). To apply for the scholarship please fill out the application form and return by April 30th.
More information about the workshop is available at the PA Farm Bureau.
